Pupils Enjoy A Good Yarn
Crafty youngsters from Kelvindale Primary have been learning to knit for babies in a Glasgow special care unit.
This team of six pupils took part in a knitting workshop at John Lewis as part of UK Craft and Design Month.
Staff at the store taught the youngsters the basics of knitting and together they made a baby blanket to be gifted to the Southern General Hospital's Special Care Baby Unit.

Helen Sweeney, from John Lewis Glasgow's haberdashery department, who led the event, said "It was great to be able to teach the pupils from Kelvindale Primary School a popular skill that they will be able to use both at school and at home.
British Craft and Design Month is a fantastic opportunity to get children involved in being creative and I hope the pupils had as much fun as we did knitting for the Special Baby Care Unit".

Caroline Darroch, head teacher at Kelvindale Primary School, added "It was such a fantastic day for all the children and the team at John Lewis Glasgow provided the children with a knowledgeable introduction to knitting".
