Community Champions Awards

Can you spot the Eco Committee in the front row?

We were very pleased to be nominated for a Community Champion Award by Bill Butler our local MSP.  We were nominated because of all the fantastic work our Eco Committee and Ms Wilson organise.  We were delighted to make it to the final and we are very proud that we were runners-up!

Here's what the Evening Times said about us:

The brightest stars of Glasgow North took a public bow last night as their work and dedication was honoured at the Evening Times Community Champions Awards.

The event, held in Maryhill Community Central Halls, paid tribute to the individuals and groups who have devoted their time to make a difference to others’ lives.

Lord Provost Bob Winter joined Evening Times Editor Tony Carlin onstage, with presentations by Assistant Chief Constable Ruaraidh Nicolson of Strathclyde Police, Bailie Ellen Hurcombe and Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Officer Lewis Ramsay.

Mr Carlin said: “The Evening Times’ motto is Nobody Knows Glasgow Better and we know that the people we are celebrating here tonight are the very lifeblood of our city.”
