Scarecrow Challenge

Kelvindale Primary’s Scarecrow Challenge took place over a couple of weeks, we created scarecrows using scrap materials. Each class paraded their scarecrows onto the pitch whilst the audience watched in stunned silence.

It was a glorious but chilly Friday morning when the competition was judged by Colin Crawford of Glasgow City Council’s Education Department. Everyone was holding their breath as Mr Crawford’s beady eyes inspected the scarecrows. It took what felt like 1,000 tense moments for him to decide but in the end it was Bird Vader by P6/5!

Bird Vader stands honourably in our organic garden whereas the rest were booted off to their new-found jobs helping farmers in the countryside. We hope our garden is safe from the ravenous crows.

We give a special thanks to Miss Morrison and the Eco Team who organised it all.
