Walk to School Week 21st - 25th May 2012
Kelvindale Primary will support the week long Glasgow City Council initiative. This year’s campaign ‘Strider’s Walking Challenge’ is focusing on ‘Road Safety’ to help children learn road safety skills in their local area. As an Eco School working towards our 3rd Green Flag, ‘Active Travel’ and walking to school is an easy way for us all to support our ‘Eco Friendly Ethos’. Each class will record daily the number of children walking to school, the class with the highest percentage score will receive a very healthy 15 minutes of extra play.
I’m sure you’ll agree this is a healthy and worthwhile initiative and we look forward to seeing lots of children walking, or using bikes or scooters to come to school where feasible.
