RAG BAG - TEXTILE RECYLING SCHEME

As part of our Eco Schools programme we are continuing to participate in the “Rag Bag” Textile Recycling Scheme.  The Rag Bag is happy to receive all types of clothing, shoes, bags, hats, belts, towels, curtains and bed linen.  The collected textiles are taken to a factory where they are sorted, graded and baled.  Quality textiles are exported to Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, providing second hand clothing.  Other textiles are recycled into fillers e.g. for mattresses and soundproofing or used as cloth for printing industries.

We are having a whole school Rag Bag collection challenge.  Please send any unwanted Rag Bag textiles to the school in the bag provided anytime from now until 24th October 2014.  Bags should be sent to Miss Morrison.

The Rag Bag pay £400 per tonne of rag collected and it is our whole school challenge to raise this.  Money earned through the Rag Bag scheme will fund new Golden Time resources.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing how well we achieve our target.
