‘Striders Walking Challenge’

Kelvindale Primary will be supporting the above Glasgow City Council initiative.  This year’s campaign ‘Strider’s Walking Challenge’ is focusing on ‘Road Safety’ to help children learn road safety skills in their local area. 

As we are an EcoSchool working towards renewing our Green Flag status, ‘Active Travel’ and walking to school is also an easy way for us all to support our ‘Eco Friendly Ethos’. Each class will record daily the number of children walking to school, the class with the highest percentage score will receive a very healthy 15 minutes of extra play.

I’m sure you’ll agree this is a healthy and worthwhile initiative and we look forward to seeing lots of children walking, or using bikes or scooters to come to school.
